WinterFaire 2012                                               Parent Participation/ Volunteer Opportunities

The Best Resource for Parents

As the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students.

PTA does not act alone. Working in cooperation with many national education, health, safety, and child advocacy groups and federal agencies, the national PTA organization collaborates on projects that benefit children and that bring valuable resources to its members.

The Pine Forest PTA works in conjunction with the Board of Directors, the Teacher’s College, the Administration, and the parent body to help our school provide an amazing educational experience for our students.

Your PTA Working for You…

Your PTA’s current goal for the year is to increase parent participation at Pine Forest.  One of the ways we are reaching our goal is by coordinating the school’s  Parent Participation Program, using the Big Blue Book.  This program is an immense success, and the Big Blue Book will help us get grants by showing our parents are involved!  Thank you to all the parents who have and continue to record their hours!

This new participation program has also given our parent body new momentum in being involved with every aspect of the school, but especially Winterfaire.  This Winterfaire’s planning has been made easier by the increased number of hands helping to make it possible!  Thank you!

Currently, your PTA is contacting all the teachers to notify them of our teacher stipend.  We are giving $200 to every class, and even more for special events, like the 8th grade field trip, the 5th grade Pentathlon, and the 3rd grade Building Project.  Keep checking our section of the Wednesday Express to get updates on how your PTA is working for you!

Joining the PTA gives you a voice on what programs we support and allocation of funds, as well as giving our school access to state and national resources. Become a PTA Member today!
