Levi began at Pine Forest as a volunteer and an assistant in 2016. He became a class teacher in 2019, taking a class in their 8th grade year (Class of 2019), then a new group students he lead from 5th through 8th grade (Class of 2023), and now back in 7th grade with his third community. They’ll soon be the proud Pine Forest graduating Class of 2027!
Flagstaff is Levi’s home- born and raised. Both his parents were also raised here, with his grandfather living and working in Flagstaff since the early 1900’s, owning historic businesses and being involved in the community. Levi is proud of nearly three generations of connections to this special place. He met his high school sweetheart at Flagstaff High School, and they were married on New Year’s Eve in 2018. They have two beautiful boys and are expecting a lovely girl this coming summer.
Education has always been a passion of his, having an interest in learning, curiosity of the world, and connection with children. Not only are our children leaders in future generations, but we have much to learn from them- endless imagination, creativity, and fascination with all things around them. [As much as I guide and teach, I learn much more from our community at Pine Forest every day.]
All of these passions and interests coalesced at Pine Forest when encountering the Waldorf pedagogy. After starting here, Levi and his wife, Stephanie Miller, soon began their Waldorf teacher training program and completed their Waldorf Education Certificate in 2023. As of the ’24-’25 School Year, Levi became Pine Forest’s Faculty Chair and has been learning the ropes in the world of School Leadership. He is now driven by questions of how our school works, how all stakeholders are involved, and what drives all spheres of the organization of Pine Forest School. Levi offers strengths of aligning our organization to our Mission & Vision, as well as to the Core Principles of Public Waldorf Education and evaluating how this is carried out. He also offers his strengths as a parent, an educator, and colleague in the best interest of Pine Forest School.
