As a practitioner, Dr. Amy Huntereece has served as a nurturer, teacher, and guide for people ages 0-100 for nearly 40 years. Amy is passionate about honoring and nurturing the development of children in an academic, Waldorf environment. She strives to find innovate ways to invite learners (both families and students) to lean into their curiosities and challenges and embrace opportunities for growth. Amy moved to Flagstaff in 2000 to take the first grade at Pine Forest. She is grateful to be called back to Pine Forest and looks forward to guiding her 6th graders through this transitionary time in their development. She aspires to bring depth, clarity of mind, purpose in living, and a sense of well-being to her classroom and community with a non-anxious presence.

As a scholar, Dr. Huntereece earned both her master’s degree in education, Waldorf certification, and PhD in Leadership and Change from Antioch University. She has done seminal research with questioning old paradigms and discovering innovate ways to shift teaching methods to better serve the needs of modern families and students.

As a community member, Amy lives with her husband and her teenage son. Both her son and grown daughter are Pine Forest alum. She enjoys hiking with her dog, cooking home grown veggies in her instant pot, and quieting her academic mind by busying her hands with a crochetproject.
